Jaw pain after dental crown?

I got a perm. crown after a root canal about 2 weeks ago. all of a sudden I have a constant pain in my upper jaw right above where the new crown is. Flossing around the new crown it seems like a gap at the top where a lot of food is collecting and I wonder if that might be something not sealed properly that could be causing the pain. If that's the case I'm assuming flushing it out with a dental syringe might be an option (once I get my hands on one) but was curious in the meantime if there is anything specific I should be concerned with. thanks

First of all if there's a gap you really need to go to the dentist. Food getting trapped is okay but if it's a huge gap it's not. You might just need to get used to the crown but if it's a bad one you can't get used to it.
Reply:You should go back to the dentist! He got paid a lot of money and should do the job properly. A crown (even after a root canal) should not be painful, especially after 2 weeks.

If you're not getting it fixed now, you'll pay for it later with gum disease and loss of teeth.
Reply:Please, just call your dentist. He will take one quick look and know exactly what to do. You trusted him enough to let him "operate" on your mouth... give him the chance to give a "post op." opinion!!

SEE HIM NOW!! ..Just in case it is an infection....mouth infections are among the most serious. ♥
