Loose dental crown?

i`ve had my dental crown done in another country a few years ago.. about 4 years. but now its getting kinda loose.. im just afraid it might fall out any day now. its my front tooth! how much approximately would it cost to have my crown redone in NY? and if i dental insurance , does that cover the cost for the crown?

Loose dental crown?
Hi Matt,

Don't worry. After time, some of the cements that are used to hold crowns in place wash out and need to be replaced. The dentist simply cleans out the old cement, and places a new one inside the crown. Easy as 1,2,3.

Insurance should cover the cost, however, there may still be a copay or office fee.

But you should definitely let the dentist take a look. Sometimes, there is a cavity under the crown, and that is what causes it to be loose. Hopefully not, but better to be safe than sorry.

As long as the crown itself isn't damaged, all a dentist would have to do is re-cement it on.

You wouldn't have to get a new one.
