Tooth ache after a dental crown was put in?

I had a big cavity and got a ceramic dental crown put in around a month back. The dentist said that the tooth will get adjusted and i will feel normal soon. But sometimes after i brush my teeth, I felt a little pain. from today morning i am getting lot of pain and its unbearable now. there is a little pain in my ear too. Is this ear pain related to my tooth ? is this tooth ache because the dental crown was not put in properly ? do i need to change the dentist ? I used a pain killer for my pain temporarily as i am at my workplace now and wont be able to visit my dentist right now. My uncle advised me to get the tooth removed instead of putting in a dental crown as it would cause even more problems but my dentish suggested the crown so i went for it. was my uncle right ? did anyone have a similar problem ? what is the solution for this ? .. I am usually very scared about health problems and i am really concerned now ..

I had tenderness until it all settled in place but never had anything like this. You need to call the dentist and get back in ~ you may have an infection. If you aren't happy with him, find another one but do get it treated right away.
Reply:Sounds like you may have an infection. Call your dentist right away. It is not to be fooled around with. You may need an antibiotic right away. Don't wait.
Reply:No, I don't believe you're in pain because the crown wasn't put in correctly. I have had the same problem with several of my crowns: it's an infection. Call your dentist to get on some antibiotics, then you'll need a root canal. Plain Ibuprofen works best for the pain. I had to take 600mg. every three hours to keep the pain down. The pain in the ear is related to your tooth.

Tooth ache is nerve-wrecking, sooner you contact the dentist, the better.
Reply:You need to visit to the dentist immediately, you may have an infection. Meanwhile take another painkiller. also do one thing- use "Colgate Sensitive" or any other sensitive tooth paste, regularly for 15-20 days.
Reply:You need to go back to the dentist. You could have an absess. He will xray to find out and may need to do a root canal.

Don't just suffer. I don't want to scare you but teeth roots are very close to the sinus cavity. An infection can spread from tooth root to sinus cavity to the brain!!!

I know this because my friend cared for a patient in a nursing home who was healthy until she got a brain infection from a absessed tooth and now is in a nursing home needing total care.
Reply:I have 2 crowns put in at the same time and there was no pain. You should see them again. There shouldn't be any charge if it's an adjustment to the crown. It could be that it is interfering with how your bite is or it is an infection. It could be related to the crown or it could be a different tooth. Best to go back and see. Good luck!
