I need dental crowns really bad!!!!!?
you should pay the money if the dentist you are going to is reputable. It's really important that they be done right. I've seen too many people that have had bad crown work and seriously pay for it. If the crowm is not seated properly or the margins(part between crown and gum) are off food gets stuck in there and you will be constantly flossing. Also debri will get under there and then you'll have decay form. Then you have to remove the crown and get more fillings put on the tooth and then another crown it you get to it in enough time. Otherwise, they end up have to remove the whole thing and then you're talking implant. $1950.00 is not bad at all for multiple crowns(average for two and really reasonable for three or more). Most dental offices have payment plans so you don't have to pay all at once. Even if you go to a dental school they're still going to charge you. If you do go to a dental school maybe try requesting an attending dentist (the person who is monitoring the students.) Good luck!! This is why are health system is so F***ed up. I don't know who decided that our teeth aren't important!?
Reply:If you live in a large city, there should be a dental school at one of the universities. Call them.
Reply:contact any dental colleges in your area. I know there is one in KC that will do procedures like this for a mere fraction of the cost. I had a tooth pulled for like ony $45 which included x-ray and everything. Some procedures if they are something they are specifically looking for to help someone further their education are even free. Depends on what they need at the time.
Reply:Surely, it's not $1,950 for one crown, right??
You can find a dental school or a dental clinic. I'm sure there are many in Detroit. Call around and get quotes.
Or, if all else fails, get a job and you'll have the $$ in a couple months.
If you do nothing, you'll eventually end up needing dentures and they're expensive, too.
Best wishes
Reply:Yes it is expensive, even Medicare can not afford to
subsidize you on the dental crowns.
Your best bet to get dental crowns at a lower cost immediately is
the eHealthPlus membership. Just enter the zip code of
Detroit, MI and contact the dentist near you
that will give you a 50%-55% discount.
