Does anyone know if nerve damage can be caused by dental prep for a crown?

My tooth aches constantly, I don't know if it's nerve damage or not. Could you provide a list of causes of nerve damage?

absolutely. you need to call your dds asap before the crown is made. sounds like you're experiencing an abcess...but it may be that your temporary crown is just too high. call the doc.
Reply:I really don't know much about what happened to you, but when my mom was getting something done, the dentist accidentally gave the shot in a nerve in her mouth, and her mouth was numb for a year, and she said it hurt often. Perhaps this is what happened to you? idk...
