I tried "looking for it" since it is rather costly to replace it, but no luck so far- any chance it will turn up and how long can it take? I don't need replacement that badly b/c it was over a dental implant and not a tooth, so the part that is sticking out is not getting damaged (it's titanium) but I will need to do something about it eventually.
I accidentaly swallowed my perm dental crown and its been over 4 days now...?
My son swallowed his silver crown some years ago. It took about two days to pass through. You could just have a slow digestive system and it needs more time. The only time to be concerned is if you are having breathing difficulty which would mean it got lodged in the upper respiratory tract. If you haven't had the thing long and it came off, your insurance might cover the cost.
Reply:Cathy F is not correct. The only time to be concerned is if you have difficulty breathing? No, no no. If you have any sign of infection (fever, nausea) see a doctor immediately. If you haven't passed this by day 5, see a doctor immediately. Report It
Reply:try a few bran muffins or taco bell
Reply:Man that us bad luck do you have good insurance?
Reply:dude! go to the ER!!!! you could die! it can cut up ur stomach!!!!
Reply:How long have you had it?
If you haven't had it for a long time, then I would go to the dentist and have him replace it/send to insurance.
Also but you "looking" for it, I hope you weren't planning on using it again?!?!?!
Reply:Oh No!! I would think that you would have passed it by now!! I would call your doctor!! Good Luck!!
Reply:ummm youll eventually poo it out but just get another 1 u might cath e coli or sumthing
Reply:lol, it will eventually come out the other end and then you can put it right back in your mouth, good as new.
maybe you should try ex-lax.
Reply:Oh man that sucks! But think about this.........if you DO find it, would you really want it back in your mouth after it came out of your butt? I don't think I would. However if it does not surface pretty soon, you need to go to the doctor.
Reply:Four days? That is too long. You need to go the doctor and see if it is caught up somewhere. If you have a puncture/cut from it, you can get a raging infection.
I knew a man from a Kiwanis club who accidentally swallowed a toothpick (used to hold a sandwich together) and died from the infection cause by the puncture wound. Not meant to scare you, but it can be serious.
Best of luck!
Reply:I had a dog swallow a contact lens once. Got a new one , but one day she pooped it out, there it laid on top of the pile of poop glistening in the sun...your crown "thingy" will show up , it probably already has and is long gone, but dam, you have to put this thing back in your mouth. I don't know how much they cost, but I would seriously consider replacing, after all it just went thru your entire body. Would you pick out the corn floating in the toilet, rinse it and re-eat it. I think not LOL
Reply:i would go to the doctor and get it OUT immidetely..
Reply:A co-worker of mine, who is a nurse did the same thing. He would go into xray every day to see where the crown was located . He did this about 3-4 days and eventually the xray showed him when it was time to start "watching" for it. He got it, bleached it, and put it back. He said was to expensive to replace. And he is fine now. No problems.
