Is there a fast and easy way to paint dental moulding ?
You CAN spray it even if it has been painted before. To do this, use a HVLP (high volume low Pressure) gun, preferably with external paint feed. Mask off or cover everything that you don't want paint on then spray the molding, it may take several coats because thin coats won't run, but thick coats will. The other option is to use a high quality brush and just take your time brushing all sides of the dentil pattern (yes, it is in fact spelled with an "i", not an "a"). Just be glad you are not painting crown molding in victorian times, they would paint the molding with several different colors to make the details stand out even more.
Reply:Unless you mask it off and spray it, andyou can't do that if it has been painted before, you are left to paint it with a brush. I would use a 2" angled brush, or a 2 1/2" angled brush.
Reply:tape off the area around it so you don't have to be careful. then use a fat brush and squish it in and out along the whole piece.
Reply:Try Krylon spray paints. My interior decorator uses it all the time especially for plastic moulding. Works very good.
