Still in pain after getting my permanent dental crown?

Hello, all.

I just had a permanent gold crown placed on one of my back molars yesterday. The root is still intact. I had a crack in my tooth, hence the crown.

Anyhoo, I'm still having some pain. Most of the pain is at the gumline, but I get pain when I'm biting down on the surface of the tooth. There's also some sensitivity to cold.

Will the pain eventually go away? I hope so because if it doesn't, I'm not sure I'm willing to go the root canal route!

Thanx for your help!
